Job Title: Senior Security Network Engineer
Status: Full Time Direct Hire
Remote: Hybrid – On call rotation required

We are supporting a top client of ours with a full time – Sr. Network Security Engineer position.  In this role, you would have the opportunity to work within an organization that values community and fosters a “family like” work environment. In this role, the Senior Security Network Engineer will collaborate on and implement network security solutions developed by the Information Security and Networking Architects.  Working very closely and with high visibility with the CISCO and Sr. Dir of Infrastructure.  You will be working on various active projects, being able to take initiative, and support the remediation, including network security testing and implementation of new or improved security products and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Project, configure, implement, and maintain all network security platforms and related software to ensure their stability and security.
  • Plan and appraise assessments with the Information Security Architect and Cyber Security Risk Engineer for application control, firewall, SIEM, VPN, SSL, intrusion detection/prevention, and other network component policies.
  • Ensure network security best practices are followed through auditing router, change control, switch, firewall configurations, and monitoring compliance with standards set by leadership.
  • Conduct periodic vulnerability testing and co-lead remediation projects with the Information Security team.
  • Articulate systems and methodologies, respond to security-related events, and support remediation efforts through security incident response.
  • Coordinate and oversee log analysis for company-managed services to meet customer policy and security requirements.
  • Maintain network security devices for proactive defense in a SOC environment, providing protective monitoring to multiple commercial customers.
  • Manage firewalls, content filters, NIDS/NIPS, proxy servers, network TAP/SPAN, and packet capture devices under the guidance of Networking and Information Security.
  • Collaborate with end users to fix appropriate policy rules, as well as tuning and developing custom network intrusion detection and heuristic signatures.
Role Requirements:
  • 10+ years of Network Security Engineering experience
  • 8+ years focused within Network Security with HIPAA/HITECH Security knowledge.
  • Extensive knowledge of security network devices (switches, firewalls, cryptography) and other security hardware/software tools.
  • At least five years’ experience identifying threats and developing protection measures.
  • Implementation, configuration, integration, and support of network security solutions (Checkpoint, Forescout, BigIP, Cisco ISE, etc.).
  • Proven experience with Cisco and Network Knowledge: Cisco ASA Firewall, routing & switching, WAN connectivity, transport types/protocols, wireless technology, and wireless deployment.
  • Preferred certifications include CISCO – CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, CCSA, FCNSP, CISSP, SSCP, CEH, GIAC, Security +, OSCP, CompTIA Server+, MCSE, LPIC, CompTIA Cloud+, VCP, or CCSE.
Education
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience (4 years).
