SUMMARY

The Infrastructure Engineer will possess knowledge of networking, server, virtualization, active directory, and datacenter technologies.   This position would be responsible for designing, building, supporting, and maintaining the IT infrastructure.  The infrastructure engineer manages the hardware, networking, and software layers of the IT environment, ensuring that the entire system meets business needs, easily scales up, adapts to new features, utilizes the latest technologies, tools, and services, and aligns with the company’s policies and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support and maintain a global infrastructure of 16 sites, including two data centers (Production / DR), along with our Azure cloud presence.
  • Lead the design, development, strategy, and support for the following technologies:
    • Active Directory – ADUC, Site and Services, DHCP, DNS, Domains and Trusts, Replication Topology.
    • VMware – vCenter, vSphere, vSAN, vMotion, and storage vMotion.  Clusters with HA and DRS.  Enterprise Plus and Standard version.
    • Extreme Networks – Data Center and office LANs.  Wireless Access networks, vLAN separation, and Cloud IQ.
    • Azure – Support our tenant, O365, cloud deployments, and SSO.  Familiarity with the Admin Centers for Teams, 365, Share Point, Security, Entra, Endpoint Manager, Defender, Enterprise Applications, and ATP.
    • SD-WAN – Works closely with our SASE partner, utilizing their NOC for next generation firewalls, IDS, IPS, NDR.  Monitoring, detection, and remediation of potential threats.  A focus on security with our SOC managing extended detection and response.
  • The ability to build and support business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
  • Provides technical support and leadership for business requirements.
  • Consults with business leaders and IT leadership to align IT portfolio to sustain growth initiatives.
  • Develop procedures and automated solutions to support the business.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Formal training in computer hardware, software and networking or a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years related experience in network, server, virtualization, cloud, and datacenter technology.
  • Expert knowledge of all aspects of IT Infrastructure including network, server, storage, datacenter, cloud, and cyber security.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Technical certifications are a plus but not required.

  • Merger and acquisitions experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS IN ADDITION TO ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Backup and restore procedures and technology – Veeam.
  • Experience with disaster recovery technologies and playbooks – Zerto.
  • IPAM
  • Monitoring and notifications.
  • Patch Management
  • Lifecycle Management
  • Incident Response Plans
  • Out of Band management.  iLO, iDRAC, UPS, PDU.

SKILL LEVEL ASSESMENT
Performs work under general supervision.  Handles complex issues and problems and refers more demanding issues to the Sr. level engineer.  Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.  May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.  Requires a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience.
